Al Azim – The Supreme

“Allah! There is no god but He, the Living, the Self- subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) Before or After or Behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, THE SUPREME (in glory).”
The Holy Quran (2:255)

“Al Azim” is a superlative derived from the noun `izam, greatness, magnanimity, dignity, honor, esteem, pride…

The Absolute Azeem is the One whose greatness cannot be grasped by vision; it is beyond all limits, so much so that no human intellect can ever absorb it. Allah has said, “He is the Most High, the Great” (Quran, 2:255).

Allah has said, “… and the great Quran” (Quran, 15:87).

While contemplating the greatness of Al Azim, one can conclude anyone else besides Him is insignificant. He is the only one, and the creator of everything. Every one and everything else is limited by virtue of this logic. Nothing can be compared to him.

He is truly Supreme.
